All-Purpose Cashew Cheese (Vegan)

Hey there! I hope your weekend has been treating you well so far! Sundays are my favourite day of the week because it means I get to wake up, enjoy my coffee slowly, and put the finishing touches on my weekly blog post.

This week, I’m sharing a recipe with you that has been featured on a blog post before, but I really felt like this cheese sauce deserved it’s very own post. This recipe produces a thick, creamy, garlicky cheese. Perfect for spreading on pizza or for dipping. If you want a thinner sauce for say, pasta, just add extra water! Easy peasy.

Try not to eat it all with a spoon!

  • 1 cup cashews, soaked in boiling water for 30-60 minutes
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/3 water (more for a thinner sauce)


Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Enjoy on top of pizzas, as a pasta sauce, as a dip for crackers or veggies, or just simply eating it with a spoon like I do! Check out this pizza recipe that uses my all-purpose cashew cheese.
